Our Framework
Little Preschool’s curriculum is bilingual and covers six key learning areas:
- Aesthetics and Creative Expression,
- Discovery of the World,
- Language and Literacy,
- Motor Skills Development,
- Numeracy, and
- Social and Emotional Development
We believe that every child is an active learner and every experience is a potential learning opportunity. Our curriculum and program is designed to create purposeful and meaningful experiences to help these active learners develop language skills, acquire concepts, build motor skills and engage in social-emotional interactions.
Our Approach
At Little Preschool, we want to raise children with the X-Factor, ready to take on the 21st century world.
Our approach allows our children to eXperience, eXplore and eXpress.
Little Preschool provides purposeful and meaningful experiences to help children develop language skills, acquire concepts, engage in social-emotional interactions and build motor skills. This is achieved through careful observation of the children’s interests, intentions and behaviour. The insights gained by the teachers are then used by the teachers to build lesson plans alongside the curriculum goals.
This process empowers teachers to provide the children with bespoke experiences that expand and deepen their understanding of the concepts taught.
Children are active learners and intrinsically inquisitive.
They are constantly using their 5 senses to learn through exploring, probing, questioning, or relating to experiences to build new knowledge with their peers and teachers. Our programme nurtures this quest for discovery in every child and promotes future independent learning skills.
Our school offers designated spaces for different interest areas, with selected teaching materials to inspire our children’s inquisitiveness and creativity. The children are encouraged to work with recycled items to develop an eco-conscious mindset.
We want our children to explore and engage with the surroundings, and inspire them to learn and develop at their own pace.
We aim to nurture confidence in children to articulate their thoughts and feelings positively and to raise questions. Our program provides opportunities for children to practice listening skills, use good grammar and appropriate language, build on vocabulary and engage in show and tell activities.
The skills learned builds confidence as the children are able to take their learning and put it into words.
Our Little Preschool Kid
We aim to nurture Kind, Inquisitive, and Determined kids at Little Preschool.
Our KID relates to the people around him or her with compassion and awareness. He or she will be a global citizen of tomorrow.
The courage to be curious, the desire to try and the fearlessness to fall. Building grit and resilience will help our KID to thrive and flourish in tomorrow’s world.
The experiences and activities planned in our program encourages our KID to explore and find solutions and not give up. With the power of engagement and commitment, he or she will be determined to do his or her best.
Outcomes
Knowledge domains acquired at Little Preschool include cognitive ability, language expression, aesthetic and creative expression, physical fine and gross motor skills and social and emotional engagement.
We nurture our children to be capable citizens of tomorrow.
We aim to equip them with the skills to take on 21st century challenges through our daily programme. Such skills include critical thinking, communication and collaboration.
Beyond skills, we want to nurture children with character, and the emotional capability to thrive in the world tomorrow.
Character strengths like compassion, curiosity, courage and commitment are a key focus in the programme, and teachers are trained to bring the best of the children in their day to day engagement.
